Samuel Bakker is a seasoned professional in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems and grid innovation. With over a decade of diverse experience, he has garnered extensive experience in the energy sector, excelling in design engineering, project management, and the application of data science within power systems, construction engineering, and field engineering realms.
Currently serving as a Senior Grid Innovation Engineer, Samuel leads initiatives to advance grid technologies and integrate renewable energy resources. His expertise also lies in designing overhead and underground electrical distribution projects, managing client relationships, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Samuel holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Electrical Energy Systems from the University of Victoria. He is concurrently pursuing a Master of Science degree with a thesis-based focus on the Applications of Data Science in Energy Systems and an MBA at the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business.
Samuel is actively involved in community service and leadership roles outside his professional endeavours. He serves as a board member at the Haysboro Community Association and holds leadership positions at Toastmasters District 42.
